The Beginnings: Bath Technology Finally Catches Up With Consumer Expectations
INAX began manufacturing Advanced Toilet Seats based upon proprietary technology in 1967. At that time, the innovative design - which featured a complete toilet unit - was considered a premium amenity for the luxury market.
However, consumers quickly recognized the superior features and benefits of the product, and demand began to grow in all quarters. In 1976, INAX advanced bath technology even further by introducing a Advanced Toilet Seat with all functions integrated into the seat itself.
During the 1980’s: Fueling a bath Product “Revolution”
By the 1980’s Advanced Toilet Seats were fueling a bath product revolution as their popularity continued to grow unabated. INAX became widely recognized as the premium maker of Advanced Toilet Seats, with a full range of models for every style of bathroom.
Additionally, INAX expanded its commercial offerings and installed the Advanced Toilet Seat in all key markets - hotels, hospitals, and other public facilities.

INAX began manufacturing advanced toilet systems in 1967, and has become a major name in the industry. We generated net sales around 940 billion yen as TOSTEM INAX HOLDING CORPORATION in 2003, while having manufactured approximately 6.7 million advanced toilet systems by March 2004.
